I have read many fictional books- from the most famous to those not many might have aware of them. The things that remained with me was not a story but its characters. There are a few characters I could not get over even after reading many years ago. I always mesmerize that how a writer can create such an extraordinary character by his/her imagination? And make them immortal in every sense that they could even motivate and impact the reader more.
Everyone character has a few flaws for sure, but it is more important how they overcome them. They not only made the story better but also compelled others to learn from them. Here is my list of five characters that I found the most inspiring among all I have read so far.
5. Adam Parish: Adam Parish is one of the five leading characters of ‘The Raven Cycle’ series. He was the poorest, but he never behaved as if he was a victim. He worked hard to get what he desired the most and always struggled to balance his life which had become hell because of his abusive father. He was strong-willed and a decision-maker, but most importantly, he was the best friend one could ever have. His mind was torn between his desire to become rich and to maintain his friendship. But in the end, he chose his friends over his desire. Had he chosen selfishness over his friends, he would have lost everything.

4. Fitz Chivalry: He was the main protagonist of the fantasy fiction, ‘Farseer Trilogy’. Fitz was the illegitimate son of the king-in-waiting, the eldest son of the king, who had to renounce his throne because of the shame he brought to the king’s name. What I liked about the character Fitz is, he worked for his family and his kingdom but neve became their slave.

And lived as he chose, though he helped the royal family in every possible way, in the end, he always chose solitude. He was the grandson of the king, but he never depended on their wealth. Throughout his life, he never left his will, that is to live on his terms. People tried to lure him sometimes by their love other times by their wealth or power. But if a person does not have any greed, no single person could enslave him. He would rather live like a beggar than to ask for help.

And that was what I liked about this character and that is why other characters in the book such as his uncle Verity envied him most.
3. Han Alister: This is the main character from the series ‘The Seven Realms’. Han Alister was a former thief, a street lord. His rivals from the old life still believed that Han was fooling them all. So they hunted him and made his life worse which was not ideal. But everything changed drastically when he came face to face with Micah Bayar, the son of the main Antagonist, the high wizard. The high wizard did everything to ruin his life and hunted him like a ghost throughout the book series.

I liked this character because he was witty, full of life despite the situation he was in. He could face the queen with the same intensity as he met with the poor. He would find a way to get what he liked even when everything looked gloomy and impossible. He was resilient to the harshest situation and would come out winning. I remember a scene where they were about to have a meeting. The high wizard did not want him to attain had placed his minion to attack him.

At the meeting, the high wizard was relaxed that Han would not come but it all changed when he showed up. The whole scene was the funniest and satisfying despite the seriousness. For this scene and many more, I would like to thank the author to share such a deep writing skill where you felt that you are with the character.
2. Hermione: She was one of the main characters of ‘Harry Potter’ series, and was a friend of Harry Potter. She helped Harry Potter whenever he faced Voldemort, the main antagonist of the series. She was intelligent, studious to the point that she could rummage through the books and try to find the solution if they faced a problem.

What I like about Hermione is, she always planned ahead of the situation. At the wedding of Ron’s brother, when the minions of Voldemort attacked, everyone had been enjoying. Harry, Ron, Hermione had to leave the place immediately without any plan and empty-handed. But it turned out that Hermione had planned for everything and she had brought every important thing in her magic bag.
Frodo: Frodo is my favourite fictional characters of all. Many are already aware of him and his story. He got the evil ring that could possess any sane soul and corrupt him. Frodo realized that the only thing they could do to save the world was that they should destroy the ring. He decided that he would take responsibility for it. He would go to Mount Doom to throw that ring in its fiery chasm, the volcano.
What I like about Frodo is that he always accepted what was necessary to do. He accepted that it was he who could do this task, though he wanted to be otherwise. When he and his friend Sam set off for Morder, he accepted the fate that they were not coming back. He did not dwell on the thought that how and what he could do when he was not a fighter. He was insignificant in that sense. But he did what others could not do, he let go of all of his worries to the future and decided what he had in his hand.

It was not easy. The way was too hard for two people as everyone was afraid of the place, its malice, even life did not seem to be there. And also because the ring was corrupting his mind and make him more miserable mentally. But he kept going and going. They did not stop even when their ration was meagre.

What makes me like Frodo was that he believed in the cause. He never thought about the other things, such as what they were going to do when Sauron would catch them? They just moved straight to Mount Doom and tried every possible thing to do it. For it, he did not refrain from taking the help of cunning and murderous Gollum. Frodo could see what Sam could never that they should use everything to achieve their goal.
